Since 1925, the Gramercy Park Hotel has been the proud guardian of Manhattan's only private park - an exclusive sanctuary accessible to just 383 key holders. This cultural landmark has hosted luminaries from JFK to David Bowie, Madonna to Iggy Pop.
After a brief 2020 closure and 2023 acquisition, this project reimagines the hotel's visual identity. Additionally, designing a dynamic motion system that metaphorically "unlocks" the property's storied past through animated reveals, transitions, and unfolding elements. Like the coveted park key, the brand design unfolds to expose layers of luxury and history while embracing modern New York's vitality. The rebrand captures the allure of the city's most privileged address, where a single key promises access to both lavish accommodations and a legendary private garden.
