As I was touring the streets of Amsterdam in August 2019, I discovered the beauty of the bridges over the canals. I shot a photograph of the Beulingsluis Canal in an effort to capture the essence of the city. Like many other famous cities, Amsterdam has a distinct visual identity which is also reflected in its signs. Inspired by this photograph and my experience there, I created my own version of this typeface as an experiment in type design. I applied the typeface to posters, stamps, and a wood block print.
